Felix touched on key strategies and tactic in emphasizing the importance of having a formalized workplace violence prevention program that is people focused and leadership driven. The employee who transitions to the active shooter is a failed workplace violence prevention policy.
Waiting for the disgruntled employee to transition to thoughts of retaliation is a negligent management decision. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” must be the prevention mindset in aggressively addressing employee reports, witness observations and swift intervention.
